Exhibiting Naked Bike at MotorGrrl, a women-owned (Valerie Figarella) motorcycle garage in Brooklyn, brought the photographs and paintings directly into the community that helped create them. By transforming a working garage into an exhibition space, the project challenged the male-dominated culture of motorcycling and gave women riders a place to see their bodies, identities, and relationship to their machines represented on their own terms.
